When we think of iconic brides, we of course immediately bow down to Bianca Jagger. She was certainly not a conventional bride, but Jagger's sultry good looks and a down-to-there YSL Le Smoking jacket, made for an instant classic and one of the chicest wedding outfits of all time.
Everyone knew that when Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger got married, it wouldn't be quiet. So it's not surprising that his 1971 nuptials (the rocker's first marriage) to Nicaraguan-born beauty Bianca Perez-Mora Macias was met with drama, frenzy and serious style.
May 12th, 1971 was the date and St. Tropez was the chosen location.
The guest list read more like the lineup of the world's greatest rock concert than a wedding; two Beatles(Ringo and Paul), Eric Clapton, and various members of the Rolling Stones among them (all flown in on a private jet by the groom). The uninvited guests? Hundreds of world press photographers clamoring for a photo of the wedding of the decade. The press chaos was such that the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Jagger almost didn't make it down the aisle, arriving over an hour and a half late for their ceremony to avoid the frenzy. After a short civil ceremony the couple would exchange vows at St. Anne's chapel amidst asoundtrack of themes from the movie Love Story.
A raucous 200-person reception followed at the nearby Café des Arts, where impromptu jam sessions took place, to be predicted given the talent pool of the guest list.

In true non-conformist Jagger fashion, the singer wore a green suit and colored sneakers to marry his new love. But it's not about the groom's style is it?
The bride would make wedding style history. Bianca, the woman who would later become the queen of Studio 54, married the Rolling Stones face man clad in Yves Saint Laurent, a YSL Le Smoking jacket, natch. The look, a perfectly tailored white suit jacket, with nothing underneath, over a floating skirt, topped off with a large veiled sun hat, was quintessentially 1970s glam. From 1971 until the end of time, this will be the epitome of courthouse wedding chic, and nothing else could possibly ever top it.

Mr. and Mrs. Jagger spent their 10-day honeymoon on a yacht traveling Corsica and Sardinia.
Sadly the wedding, and the bride's timeless effortlessly chic look, would be the high point of this couple's history. In a 1986 interview, Bianca famously told the New York Daily News, "My marriage was over on the wedding day." The couple divorced in 1979.
