ELLE'S EDIT: BRIDE'S FASHION DIRECTOR'S FAVORITE LOOKS FROM PARIS COUTURE WEEK

January 29, 2016 Prim and Perfect

The Spring 2016 Haute Couture season just wrapped in Paris. Chanel, Valentino, Giambattista Valli, Zuhair Murad, Givenchy oh my! The high fashion runways are the perfect place to find that exquisitely dramatic, not to mention drop dead beautiful, inspiration shot for your wedding dress.

Lucky for us, the runways were full of bridal-ready inspiration, and breathtaking moments any bride can take a cue from! To help sort through the haute-ness of it all, BRIDES Fashion Director Elle Straus rounds out her favorites from the recent runways to inspire your own breathtaking bridal moment.

Wow Wow Wow
Everything at Giambattista Valli. Period. Dramatic and intensely beautiful, these gowns are what couture is all about! The designer credited his collection as a "thank you" to Paris, with inspiration taken from the city's many gardens. We say thank you right back! If this collection is any indication, get your 60s-inspired caped shift dresses, full skirts and exaggerated volume ready to go! There were also high-low hemlines and some flowing shifts mixed in for good measure.

                                                                                                                              Giambattista Valli, Photo: Getty Images

                                                                                                                              Giambattista Valli, Photo: Getty Images

                                                                                                Zuhair Murad, Photo: Getty Images

Zuhair Murad also went for show-stopping volume, show casted in blush gowns, floral embroidery, and caged skirts. Winter brides still looking for that A-HA wedding dress moment look no further for inspiration than this long-sleeved high-low gown.

We bet we'll be seeing these collections again soon — they are made to walk the Oscars red carpet!

Valentino's Goddesses
If there was a moment from the couture runways tailor made for bohemian brides, it was Valentino's East meets West collection. With flowing barely-there gowns, pleated chiffon, deep cut necklines, ornate gold body jewelry, and serpent headpieces adoring the model's softly waved and subtly braided hair, Maria Grazia Churia and Pierpaolo Piccioli's collection was the ultimate in ethereal inspiration. Models were greeted with the following words backstage: "You are a priestess going to the temple at the top of the hill. You are fierce, serene, strong, and you have a purpose . . ." Now there are some words of wisdom to take to heart before walking down your own runway (the aisle!).

All About the Girls
If there's one thing we love to watch as much as the clothes coming down the runways, it's the models! More specifically the It Girls of the moment Kendall Jenner (who closed Chanel's couture show last season as bride) and Gigi Hadid. And of course the dashing duo made for some adorably playful moments backstage before walking the Chanel show. All eyes, including ours, are on these girls. And let's face it, they really make fashion fun!

The Big Bridal Moments

Traditionally, the last look at a couture show is always the bride. Lucky for us right? This season's brides gave us some show stopping moments courtesy of Chanel, Ralph & Russo, Elie Saab, Georges Hobeika, and Zuhair Murad. Just go ahead and pin these for walking down the aisle inspiration.
