Wedding superstitions have been around longer than we can even try to imagine and they've been passed down to us year after year without much explanation or reasoning behind them. We tend to forget about them, not letting them bother us too much until it becomes our wedding day and we want to know if rain really means good luck or if having something borrowed, something blue, means the marriage will last forever. No worries, here are three of the most popular wedding superstitions that have been around forever and the age-old meaning behind them.
1. Rain Means Good Luck
Having it rain on your wedding day is something all brides fear when they plan an outdoor wedding or even if they have an indoor wedding but planned to take outdoor pictures with their groom and bridal party. However according to Hindu tradition it is good luck. So the next time someone tells you this, know that the luck involved with this superstition is said that rain on your big day will bring fertility, cleansing of your past, and the unity of a long-lasting marriage ahead.

2. Wear Your Engagement Ring on a Certain Finger
Ever wonder why you wear your engagement ring on your left hand, on the fourth finger? It was believed that a vein on this finger leads directly to the heart.
3. Wedding Veils
Trying to decide whether or not to wear a veil on your wedding day? The superstition behind this was that the bride should wear a veil to cover her face in order to confuse any evil spirits that may be lurking around. Do you think this translates well into our modern times? That is if those evil spirits are angry ex-boyfriends creeping around the ceremony.
