The Top 15 Most talked about Celebrity Weddings

Let’s be real, when a celebrity wedding is announced and has yet to happen, we sometimes feel like we’re invited, even when we clearly aren’t, mostly because of the whole getting ready for the wedding specials shown on tv. This is most especially evident if a celebrity wedding is being televised (like the Kardashians for example). And when the wedding is over and the post-wedding specials happen, or even just an interview from the bride or groom or the couple itself, we end up talking about it for days too. We’ve listed a few celebrity weddings whom a lot of people have talked about, in no particular order.

1. Britney Spears & Kevin Federline

The Pop princess’s wedding to K.Fed in 2004 was quite a dream come true, from the looks of it. This served to be her first real wedding as well, not including the wedding she had with a childhood friend that didn’t work out after hours. But that one was in Vegas, so it wasn’t as personal. While her wedding dress was stunning, she changed into a sexier dress for the reception, and had her bridesmaids wear customized pink track suits for the affair too. Oh, and the cake? Gorgeous.

t2. Princess Diana & Prince Charles

It’s a given that they had to be on this list. William and Harry’s mom and dad had a wedding that the whole world ended up talking about and remembering fondly for days, and is actually one of the most famous weddings of all time. In 1983, the late Princess had a train of her wedding gown that measured to 20 feet long, and had 10,000 pearls hand-sewn onto it as well.

3. Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries

Fortunately, but more on unfortunately, reality star Kim Kardashian has to be placed on this list as well. Her wedding to NBA star Kris Humphries just embodies over-the-top, that also ended up in divorce after 72 days, which is a huge waste of money. But anyway, her wedding is also one of the most talked about for that same reason too. From the engagement and wedding rings, to the dresses, to the cake, everything just screamed luxurious and too much. Oh well.

4. Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt

While they aren’t as extravagant as the Kardashians, it was still a million-dollar wedding for one of Hollywood’s then-power couples, as we all know how their marriage turned out. Jen’s wedding to Brad Pitt back in 2000 took place in a mansion in Malibu, decorated to look like a Zen garden. While we’d love to have witnessed the beautiful event, just seeing photos like these makes us smile fondly. Yes, until now.

5. Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale

An edgy wedding between two rockstars, and one of Hollywood’s most famous rockstar couples. In 2002, Gwen certainly went ahead of the times by having a pink ombre wedding dress. And as if it can’t get any more trendier, their wedding cake had rose petals on it too.

6. Victoria Adams & David Beckham

It feels a little weird when we use Victoria’s maiden name since we’re now all so used to calling her Victoria Beckham. But her wedding to football star David Beckham was also one of the most talked about in the world since the Spice Girls were formed. Their wedding in 1999 was set in a castle in Ireland. Posh wore a very beautiful Vera Wang wedding gown as well as a gold crown.

7. Fergie & Josh Duhamel

Another romantic celebrity affair was between singer Fergie and actor Josh Duhamel in their wedding in 2009. Just like Gwen, Fergie opted for a head chain instead of the usual veil and their wedding cake was in the shape of a big castle! Not to mention their very steamy photoshoot for the event too. 8. Grace Kelly & Prince Rainier

The day iconic actress and Hitchcock blonde Grace Kelly became a full-fledged Princess of Monaco back in 1956. Because it was a royal wedding, it’s only expected to be a very grand affair from head to toe. They actually had two wedding ceremonies, by order of the Napoleonic code of Monaco – a civil wedding that was held in the Palace Throne Room, and a religious wedding that took place in the Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Monaco.

9. Chelsea Clinton & Marc Mezvi

While a lot of famous weddings were very extravagant affairs, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton had a more toned-down wedding to husband Marc in 2010. They kept it very romantic, and very intimate. It’s not as talked about as much, but a lot of people were left wondering about the other details to this joyous occasion.

10. Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise

Katie was just like us; dreaming of one day marrying your dream man. Only in her case back then, it really happened for her when she married Tom Cruise. They were one of the most famous then-couples in Hollywood, just like Jen and Brad. In their wedding, that was also deemed one of the most expensive, in 2006, it was set in a beautiful castle in Italy. Only fitting for a woman who’s about to marry the man of her dreams.

11. Ellen DeGeneres & Portia De Rossi

Similar to Chelsea Clinton’s wedding, Ellen and Portia’s wedding in 2008 was also very simple, romantic, and very intimate. Which is also why so many people have talked about it. Their dogs were present at their wedding, and were sitting with them as well. And instead of standing, they chose to sit all throughout the ceremony too.

12. Jackie Onassis & John F. Kennedy Jr.

One of the weddings all of us probably wish we witnessed. The wedding of the late former President and his trend-setting wife in 1953 was also somewhat of a fairy tale, and one of the most famous ones at that. It was classic, it was timeless, it’s basically what a lot of couples would want their wedding to be like.

13. Lauren Bush & David Lauren

Fashionable. What else could you expect from the son of Ralph Lauren on his wedding to Lauren Bush back in 2011. Very elegant, and very timeless too. Another wedding inspiration that only deserves to be talked about a lot.

rev14. Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban

Needless to say, Nicole found herself a good man. Her wedding to singer Keith Urban in 2006 is another one of the most talked about weddings too. It may be a little low-profile, but it was still a romantic affair, judging from the wedding photos that were released.

15. Alexandra Lenas & Sean Parker

Do you remember the character Justin Timberlake portrayed in The Social Network? Yeah, it’s the real guy’s wedding to his wife back in 2013, and boy was it talked about, alright. Their wedding is one of the most famous for a reason: The theme. All their guests wore a costume made from the costume designer of Lord of the Rings. It was a wedding worthy to be held in Rivendell from the sheer extravagance of it all. The only thing that was probably missing that could have made for a very grand wedding would be the cast of the movies itself, and in their costumes to attend, and Peter Jackson of course.
