A blizzard means disaster for most wedding parties, in the form of canceled flights, no-show guests, and inside-only bridal portraits. But when eight inches of snow began falling from the sky during the wedding of Carly and Chris Atwill, the U.K. couple simply decided to take the opportunity for some unbelievably beautiful, snowy photos. Now this is the winter wedding December brides dream of!
The newlyweds admitted to The Daily Mail that they had originally wished for snow on their wedding day, but had never expected the ground of Barnard Castle (their royalty-worthy wedding venue) to transform into such a winter wonderland. "We had really hoped it would snow, but knew the chances were very slim as there hadn't been a snow like this for five years," said the groom. "It all feels like a bit of a dream now."
Thankfully, the freak blizzard didn't cause any wedding day disasters — only breathtaking photos! Wedding photographer, Paul Liddemen, captured stunning shots of the snow princess bride, the couple embracing in their own personal winter wonderland, and even the guests frolicking in the crystal flakes!
After snapping the snowy pics, everyone ran inside to warm up, dry off, and of course, wrap the bride in a fur stole — a wintery wedding essential, after all! "It was cold in my dress," Carly admitted. "But I loved it, as it was so magical and special."
Sounds like the cold never bothered this bride, anyway!
